Who is Willow?
Facility Dog Willow was one of ten puppies born to her mother on May 5, 2012. Willow was born in Santa Rosa, California and raised in Jacksonville, Florida. Willow was Alabama’s first facility dog to work in the court system. Willow was also the first facility dog in the country to work in Family Justice Center (FJC).
Willow was placed with Tamara in May, 2014 by Canine Companions for Independence®.
Willow is a service trained facility dog that works with clients in a criminal justice setting. Willow uses her commands and behaviors to mitigate the stress and anxiety of crime victims, witnesses, and others during all stages of the legal proceedings including accompaniment during interviews and court hearings.
